We were relieved that this two way traffic has only an 80 km speed limit.
We have lots of up and down
From here we can see that we are going to somehow get over these mountains
One of our crossings. We meet more walkers today than in the previous 9 days combined
Miracously our feet stay dry all day
The Irish highlands
And our lunch stop
The last 10km was a repeat of the start of our walk
The Abbey House in Killarney where we are staying for two days. We need a day of rest and we need to find a laundromat . On Thursday we are renting a car for touring the rest of the Emerald Isle. Other than the one day of rain we had very good weather.
My comments in retrospect
- our book was a POS- not sure if there is a better one but ours was close to useless
- water and food is not readily available on the trail. Plan for it. We did not.
- it's a tough walk - much tougher than we anticipated
-our footwear caused us grief- not sure what the better option is
-the people were wonderful and helped us at every possible opportunity
-the scenery is amazing
-so many times we felt we were alone on the globe
- the food totally exceeded our expectations
-it's a beautiful life
- I am grateful
