Lacombe>Edmonton>Toronto> St Johns NFLD>Dublin>Killarney

We left home at 7am when our airport shuttle operated by Mr GT arrived to deliver us to YEG.  We had an uneventful flight to Toronto - West Jet all the way to Dublin.  We did have an airport beer in YYZ - which amazingly is still only $10.  We opted to have supper in NFLD.  After a 2 hr 30 minute flight to SJ the only restaurant is closed.  Breakfast seems like a long time ago so the airline menu looks pretty good. Turkey and Brie sandwiches times 2
We are sitting beside a young man  ( since Edmonton) who flies into Fort McMurray every two weeks from Dublin.  Oh my...
We are in row 10 - it is the second worst seat choice.  We are in front of the exit seats so our seats do not recline and this flight is really full!  The worst seats (according to our hostess) are the ones in the very back of the plane which also do not recline but have the added discomfort of being next to the washrooms.
We watched the in flight movie about the San Andreas fault.  Hollywood truly outdid themselves ...Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is slightly more realistic.  The turbulence added to the drama.  It is a 4 hour 16 minute flight from NFLD to Dublin.
We had a 4 hour stop in Dublin then boarded a small plane to take us to KIR - which is nowhere near Killarney.  Upon arrival at this very tiny airport we asked at the info desk about a bus into Killarney. She said if we walked into the village we could get one at the pharmacy in about 10 minutes.  We never found the village or the pharmacy.  Waited another hour to get a bus from the airport into Killarney. We arrive at our Best Western hotel at about 3:30
After all of the yunkering I did last week about being unable to find our European electrical adapters and finally finding 3 of the right size to borrow....none of them work in Ireland. Great Britain and Ireland are different than the rest of Europe...Jeepers
For supper we had cod and chips.  And a glass of Guiness. Possibly the best ever for both the fish and the fries.  Tonight Ireland and Italy are playing rugby quarter finals in England.  The pubs are packed and it was fun to share in the excitement.
Tomorrow we may start walking or we may rest for another day. We are both exhausted
